The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) published in May, by the U.S. Department of Education, for Part B of the IDEA, 34CRF Part 300, Sec.300.9, 300.300 and 300.512 is open for public comment on or before July 29, 2008. The proposed regulations raise several issues, one of which relates to letting parents unilaterally revoke consent to their child's continued receipt of special education services and another related to due process hearings.
